TOPICS - Chantix

Chantix is a prescription medication manufactured by Pfizer that is supposed to help you stop smoking. Chantix was approved by the FDA in May, 2006. In February, 2008 the FDA issued a health advisory regarding the association between Chantix and changes in behavior, agitation, suicidal thoughts and attempted suicide. According to a new study, people taking Chantix are at a 72 percent increased risk for heart disease. In June, 2011, the FDA issued a safety notice that Chantix may increase your risk for heart attack.
