Actos is a diabetes medication manufactured by Takeda Pharmaceutical Co.’s. It has been reported that people taking Actos have a 3 to 6 times increased risk of developing diabetic macular edema, an eye disease which can lead to blindness.

It has also been reported that there may be a link between Actos and bladder cancer.
